Notes for Last Lecture

I will discuss the content and structure of the final exam, and then make some brief concluding remarks about the course.

*Please bring a #2 pencil with you today, if possible. I'll bring some if you don't have one handy.

I will also distribute a study guide to help you prepare for the exam.

On Wednesday, I will have an informal review session during class time. I will not be presenting material, but will simply be there to help answer questions that may have arisen at various points throughout the course or while reviewing material for the final. I will NOT simply go through the study guide and answer the questions for you, or answer basic questions that could be answered just from reading the outline notes from the lectures. The point of Wednesday's session is to clarify important points that you might be confused about after having made a real effort to understand it. So come with specific and substantive questions, and I'll try to provide some clarification.

For those who might be interested in continuing philosophical discussion outside of formal classes, there is an undergraduate Philosophy Club sponsored by the philosophy department, which holds regular informal meetings and sometimes sponsors lectures by professors from both inside and outside of Virginia Tech. Please email Scott Fernandez, the president, if you would like more information, at sfern07@vt.edu.
